History (Quill Studios)

Quill Studios' first game, A Summer with the Shiba Inu, was first conceptualized in 2016, and was successful on Steam Greenlight in 2017. Quill Studios' founder, Susan, has been working on the studio for over 6 years now on the weekends, along with her full time job as a principal data scientist on weekdays.

Quill Studios has since released 2 commercial games, A Summer with the Shiba Inu, and Death Becomes You. They are working on the next game in the Shiba Inu series, Autumn with the Shiba Inu, and launching a Kickstarter for it in April, 2023. Now at 6+ years old, the studio has grown to include 2 managers, and ~10 programmers and artists.

Susan frequently speaks at large conferences about Quill Studios and working in the Python-based Ren'Py engine. Notably, she has spoken at 5 PyCons (the largest Python programming conferences) around the world, and is a keynote speaker at PyCon DE & PyData Berlin.

History (Quill Yuri)

Quill Yuri is a branch of Quill Studios, based in Canada. Quill Studios and Quill Yuri are founded by Susan, aka "Quilly". Quill Studios has since released 2 commercial games, "A Summer with the Shiba Inu", and "Death Becomes You". Due to the differences in style and theme, Quill Yuri was spun out to focus on games featuring anime-style art and (human) characters. Quill Studios continues to develop on the "Shiba Inu" series which feature dogs as protagonists.
